              Wayne Osmond

 




Melvin Wayne Osmond was born on August 28, 1951 in Ogden Utah.
He is the 2nd oldest of the original Osmond Brothers and the 4th of the nine Osmond children.










Career
Starti
ng in 1958, Wayne and three of his brothers (Alan, Merrill and Jay in their respective age orders) began singing as a barbershop quarted. They were later discovered in 1961 by Jay Emerson Williams, Andy William's father, at a performance at Disneyland which was being filmed for the  Disneyland After Dark episode of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color.

In 1962, the four Osmonds were cast over a seven-year period on NBC's The Andy Williams Show, a musical variety program.
They also  appeared in nine episodes of the 1963-1964 western television series, The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters, with Wayne in the role of young Leviticus Kissel.




Like his brother Alan, Wayne seldom sang anything more than backing vocals, in contrast to his younger brothers, except for the songs 'Rest your love', 'Sun, Sun, Sun'and 'Desperately'

Wayne is a multi talented musician (guitar, flute, drums, bagpipe, saxophone, clarinet, violin, you name it..he plays it), actor ('It nearly wasn't Christmas') and producer, famous for his work on 'Cemetry Junction' (2010) and 'Harrigan' (2013).

His last intended appearance with the Osmonds was October 13, 2018.










He made an additional appearance with his brothers a year later as a birthday present to their sister, Marie, singing 'The Last Chapter'. Wayne is now retired.





Personal life





On December 13, 1974 Wayne married Kathlyn Louise White from Bountiful, Utah.
Kathlyn was a former Miss Davis County Fair and Miss Utah of 1974.
They have five children, three daughters (Amy, Sarah, Michele) and two sons (Steven, Gregory).
Amy was the winner of 1994 America's junior Miss and is now mother of 5 children.

The duo is a blessed couple, who have been together for almost 50 years without any controversie and scandal.





In the 1990s, Osmond moved to Branson , Missouri. Now he lives in a lavish house located in Bountiful, Utah.
In 1997, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which was successfully treated. He has also got the hearing problem, which lead him to retire from The Osmonds.
Like the rest of his family, he is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
